Abtract

Damarks officielle sprog er dansk, og landet har ca. 5.500.000 indbyggere. 90% af disse er etniske danskere med dansk som modersmål. For de sidste 10% findes kun ét officielt etableret minoritetssprog, tysk. Byerne Sønderborg, Åbenrå, Tønder og Haderslev giver officielt mindretalsrettigheder til deres indbyggere; det samlede antal indbyggere med tysk som modersmål udgør 20.000 alene i Sønderjylland (jf. fx).
