Cooperative Coarse Timing Synchronization for OFDM-Based Distributed Antenna Systems

Abstract

In this paper, a cooperative coarse timing synchronization method for OFDM-based distributed antenna systems is proposed. Without increasing the false alarm probability at each remote antenna, we exploit the cooperation of the multiple remote antennas, and a new detection threshold is formulated to avoid the missed detection that occurs according to the independent timing synchronization. The analytical and simulation results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method.
