Abstract
Living organisms have a set of characteristics which we call a phenotype. The whole body of an organism, or phenome, is formed on the basis of phenotype. Organisms also possess a set of genes that determine traits—a genotype. It is a complex of genetic programs of reproduction, development, and functioning of living bodies. These programs are recorded, stored, and reproduced in genomes.
