Zusammenfassung

Nur wenige Erreger können zu einer Vulvitis/Kolpitis führen. Der häufigste Erreger ist Candida albicans. Staphylococcus aureus verursacht nur eine Entzündung im äußeren Vulvabereich. Streptokokken A können zu einer hartnäckigen Vulvitis/Kolpitis führen. Bei der gar nicht seltenen Kolpitis plasmacellularis, englisch »desquamative inflammatory vaginitis« (DIV), sind Ursache und Erreger unbekannt.
