Zusammenfassung

Die Schilddrüsenfunktion beeinflusst die Fertilität. Bekannt sind die Effekte des Thyroxins auf das LH, das Prolaktin und die Höhe des sexualhormonbindenden Globulins (SHBG). Zusätzliche direkte Effekte auf die ovulatorische Funktion werden aufgrund von vorhandenen T3-Rezeptoren am Ovar vermutet (Poppe et al. 2008). Schilddrüsenfunktionsstörungen sind bei Frauen in fertilem Alter mit 2–4% häufig (Wang u. 1997). Die Abklärung und Behandlung von Schilddrüsenfunktionsstörungen haben in der Reproduktionsmedizin deshalb ihren festen Platz.
