Abstract
History: Multiple myeloma was initially diagnosed 9 years ago. Patient received chemotherapy followed by a stem cell transplant 8 years ago with complete remission. The disease recurred 5 years ago with the identification of a plasmocytoma; treated with Cytoxan and Thalidomide with no response; chemotherapy changed to Velcade and Doxil, followed by second stem cell transplant 4 years ago. One year later, patient relapsed with increasing serum light chains; started on a new chemotherapeutic regimen that included dexamethasone. This regimen has been continued for the past 18 months. There are no prior FDG PET/CT studies available for comparison.
