Zusammenfassung

Das Refeeding-Syndrom ist eines der oft verkannten Komplikationen beim Ernährungsbeginn von Kindern mit primärer oder sekundärer Malnutrition. Es kann in allen solchen Situationen auftreten mit schwerwiegenden Folgen für das Kind. Daher ist eine besondere Aufmerksamkeit nach Beginn der Nährstoffzufuhr derartiger Kinder notwendig. Frühzeitiges Monitoring und vorsichtige Nährstoffzufuhr kann diese Komplikationen verhindern. Der schwere Phosphatverlust mit Hypophosphatämie steht dabei ganz im Vordergrund.
