Zusammenfassung

Der physiotherapeutischen Behandlung geht ein gezieltes Assessment voraus, das sich an den Kategorien der ICF für Erkrankungen des Bewegungsapparats orientiert. Dabei werden weitestgehend überprüfte Fragebögen und Tests genutzt, deren vorrangiges Ziel der Ausschluss von Risikofaktoren, die Klassifizierung der betroffenen Patienten und die Zuordnung relevanter Befunde zu evidenten Therapiemaßnahmen ist. Dieses Kapitel beschreibt ferner Optionen, die nicht Gegenstand aktueller Leitlinien sind, und definiert Subgruppen, die von solchen Maßnahmen profitieren können. Neben der Darstellung der physiotherapeutischen Maßnahmen im Einzelnen wird deren Bedeutung zusätzlich in den Kontext des jeweiligen Chronifizierungsstadiums gestellt. Neben dem unspezifischen Nacken- und Rückenschmerz wird auch der Symptomenkomplex »whiplash associated disorders« angesprochen. Am Ende des Kapitels steht eine kritische Betrachtung der aktuellen Situation der Physiotherapie und der sich abzeichnenden Entwicklungen.
