Zusammenfassung

Das grundlegende Ziel der Atemunterstützung bei Kindern ist – wie bei Erwachsenen – die Aufrechterhaltung eines ausreichenden pulmonalen Gasaustausches. Grundsätzlich werden hierfür die gleichen Verfahren eingesetzt, jedoch müssen die jeweiligen Techniken und Apparate den spezifischen anatomischen und physiologischen Besonderheiten dieser Altersgruppe angepasst werden (◉ Tab. 27.1).
