Zusammenfassung
Entwöhnung oder Weaning bezeichnet den Prozess des Übergangs von der Beatmung mit künstlichem Atemweg (Endotracheal- oder Trachealtubus) zur Spontanatmung ohne Tubus Entwöhnung oder Weaning bezeichnet den Prozess des Übergangs von der Beatmung mit künstlichem Atemweg (Endotracheal- oder Trachealtubus) zur Spontanatmung ohne Tubus. Eine spezielle Entwöhnung ist zumeist nur nach einer Langzeitbeatmung (>48 h Dauer) erforderlich. Hingegen kann nach einer Kurzzeitbeatmung die maschinelle Beatmung zumeist mit Wiedereinsetzen einer ausreichenden Spontanatmung einfach beendet und der Patient extubiert werden.
