Efficiency Comparison of Three Information Sharing Method in LAN

Abstract

LAN is the most widely used within the organization’s network. Within the LAN there are three ways to share information, they are network neighborhood, FTP and Web. For a long time, IT technician prefer to consider the convenience of client better than the efficiency of the information transmission in LAN. This paper first introduced the mainstream configuration of LAN and gave out the calculation formula of the efficiency of information transmission, then based on the network protocol, deduce the efficiency calculation formula of the three information sharing mode. Base on the transformation and derivation of these formulas, we draw conclusion that the efficiency of information transmission within the LAN ranked as FTP, network neighborhood and Web.
