Zusammenfassung
Die Voraussetzungen für eine erfolgreiche operative Therapie pharmakoresistenter Epilepsien des Kindesalters haben sich in den letzten Jahren erheblich verbessert. Eine verbesserte Bildgebung durch zunehmend hochauflösendere Kernspintomographie, die Möglichkeit der Erfassung von Stoffwechselprozessen und Durchblutung (PET, SPECT), eine Differenzierung der invasiven Diagnostik und schließlich eine Verfeinerung der neuropsychologischen Diagnostik erlauben heutzutage eine exaktere Indikationsstellung und damit eine effektivere Therapie.
