Abstract
Application of chemotherapy drugs, nowadays, is almost necessary for cancer treatment. But, this treatment can suppress the activity of the bones marrow and more importantly is harmful at patients. What’s more, usage of these drugs is limited due to their side effects and cost. Consequently, the following experiment was outlined in which mesenchymal stem cells were cultured. In order to control energy density and waist of beam, appropriate optical set up was designed to investigate the effects of low power near infra red laser with different densities and various irradiation periods on proliferation and citotoxicity of mesenchymal stem cells’ mouse. The result in first experiment showed positive effects of proliferation of the cells, but no sign of cytotoxicity were observed. However in second experience we observed sign of citotoxicity. In some periods, significant proliferation in a dose-dependent manner in comparison with non-irradiated cells was shown. According to this experiment, irradiation of near infra red laser could stimulate proliferation of mesenchymal stem cells that depends on density of power and irradiation periods.
