Chalcogenides

Part of the book series: Springer Series in Materials Science ((SSMATERIALS,volume 164))

Abstract

This chapter is dedicated to reversible photostructural changes in chalcogenide glasses. It starts with experimental description of photodarkening and its phenomenological interpretation within the configuration-coordinate model. Subsequently, results of in-situ EXAFS and ESR studies are described as well as a possible atomistic model of the reversible photostructural changes.
