Abstract

This paper presents a new spatial index structure – quadtree-based gridfile. The new gridfile combined with the advantages of quadtree and gridfile. According to the algorithm of full quadtree, we can calculate the result quickly. New algorithm to overcome the original algorithm, let gridfile can effectively index line objects and surface objects. Our paper gives the cache quadtree structure and the key algorithm in detail. This paper presents the principles and methods of calculation on the new hierarchical grid.
