Abstract

To try to eliminate inconsistency among cells in battery pack which decreased the cycle life of battery pack heavily, a new equalizing approach which could connect the cells flexibly was discussed. A flexible connection system for battery pack was invented, which composed of voltage monitoring circuit, controlling chip and switching devices. An experiment of discharge was carried out with the system. The result showed that the system equalized voltage of cells with high efficiency and high precision, greatly extended the discharging time of battery pack. It was also analyzed how to meet power requirement of electric vehicle with the system.
