Abstract
MT surveys are designed with the objective of a particular project in mind, taking advantage of the stand-alone system. The spacing between measurement sites, site layout geometry (grid, profile, random, etc.) and the sequence in which sites are recorded are flexible. Multi-phase surveys are in practice, with the initial phase being experimental or reconnaissance in nature and succeeding phases are designed being used with additional data to get more detail where needed.
