Abstract
Alar soft tissue techniques are often necessary to achieve a balanced outcome and superior results when performing rhinoplasty surgery. They should be an integral part of every rhinoplasty evaluation and surgical plan as indicated. The authors discuss anesthesia and their standard approach and provide a detailed step-by-step surgical plan for alar base reduction, flare reduction, hooding reduction, as well as possible complications. Also included is a helpful algorithm to simplify the decision-making process.
