Abstract

With the construction of passenger dedicated lines, the demand of high-speed turnouts has been stared in the face. Base on Kinematic Gauge Optimization (KGO), a switch designed by Germany, this paper designs a gauge-widen switch of NO.18 turnout. In order to study the impact of gauge-widen switch on the stability and security of train, the author constitutes the spatial coupling model and analysis the impact of two factors (value of gauge widening and the maximum widening position). The research results show the following two conclusions: 1) Increasing the value of gauge widening can significantly improve the stability when train passes through the turnout, the increasing value should not exceed 15mm; 2) Where the tongue rail’s width is 30mm is the optimal position to set maximum value of gauge widening.
