Abstract
Based on the data from 1984 to 2009, this paper takes an empirical analysis on the relation between China’s economic growth and the development of China’s domestic tourism industry in accordance with cointegration theory and Granger causality Test. The results show that there is a stable and long-term relation between China’s economic growth and the development of China’s domestic tourism industry. Moreover, there is a two-way Granger causality between the development of China’s domestic tourism industry and China’s economic growth. Economic growth is the Granger cause of the development of domestic tourism and domestic tourism is the Granger cause of economic growth. That’s to say China’s economic growth has promoted the development of China’s domestic tourism industry and the development of China’s domestic tourism industry has boosted China’s economic growth.
