Abstract

In this paper, we consider the problem of frame detection by using multiple antennas over wireless fading channels. We introduce frame detection with different combining schemes including space diversity. Firstly, probability of miss detection curves comparing the performance of frame detection with selection combining (SC) scheme, equal gain combining (EGC) scheme and maximum ratio combining (MRC) scheme are presented. We also investigate the performance when frame detection adopts down-sampling. Our simulation results explicitly show that the performance of the frame detection with MRC scheme and down-sampling does not degrade apparently. We also find that the number of receive antennas is exponentially increased with the performance improvement.
