Abstract
A tone signal recognition method based on eigenvalue decomposition was proposed in order to distinguish the tone signal from the modulation signals. The recognition of a tone signal was transformed into the problem of signal detection in complex Gauss white noise through converting the passband signal to the baseband signal. And based on the eigenvalue distribution of the covariance matrix, the decision variable was defined and the decision rule was constructed. Simulation results show that the method is effective.
