Research on Image Retrieval Based on Scalable Color Descriptor of MPEG-7

Abstract

On the basis of MPEG-7 international standards, this paper explores the components semantics and syntax rules of the scalable color descriptor in detail, and further discusses the bitplane expression of image and the correlation theories of the color quantization in optimizing HSV space, it select a large number of images to carry on the empirical grouping research for the scalable and variable characteristics of coefficient in image SCD description, and carries on image content’s similarity and time-consuming calculations in different coefficients, the experiment shows that SCD can obtain good performance both in the retrieval accuracy and the fast matching of image.
