Adaptive Rate Protocol for LDPC Coded Slow Frequency Hop System
A simple and successful protocol is proposed for adapting the rate of low density parity check (LDPC) code for slow frequency hop systems with partial band interference. Parity check information embedded in the decoder is used to adjust the code rate to compensate for changes of interference parameters. No pilot signal is needed for our adaptive transmission method and only a few bits of feedback for each packet are required. The proposed adaptive rate coding system achieves better throughput performance than fixed-rate coding systems over both static and time-varying interference channels as illustrated by numerical simulation results.
