Abstract
To get a more detailed numerical simulation of stator temperature distribution, a 45kW induction motor with non-sinusoidal supply is regarded as a sampled motor in this paper. According to the computational fluid dynamics theory, three-dimensional mathematical model of the stator radial cooling channel is established, and three-dimensional fluid distribution in the stator radial cooling channel is obtained by the finite volume method. On the basis of foregoing results and taking into account the influences of fluid distribution on heat transfer coefficient, a three-dimensional stator model is built by choosing a sixtieth part of stator and a more accurate three-dimensional temperature distribution of the stator is gained. The result obtained by numerical simulation is compared with traditional method result and experimental result, which confirmed that the result of temperature field based on the fluid field is more correct.
