Brillouin-Zone Integration

Abstract

Efficient and accurate Brillouin-zone integration schemes have been top on the wish list of developers since long. This chapter reviews the basic issues as well as the most prominent schemes nowadays in use. In particular, the linear tetrahedron method is discussed in some detail. Building on the work of Lambin and Vigneron, results for both the real and imaginary parts of the Green’s are presented allowing to avoid use of the Kramers-Kronig relation.
