Abstract
Motion-detection and Edge-detection are both important functions of video surveillance processing. This paper propose a novel method of motion-detection and edge-detection arithmetic based on motion-estimation and applied its ASIC implementation, the method fully use the data generated by video encoder in encoding processing, and add motion-detection and edge-detection function by adding very little hardware cost compared with traditional video encoder. The experiment result shows that a satisfying result of motion-detection and edge-detection can be gotten quickly, effectively and robustly by using the proposed method.
