Abstract

In this paper, using discrete cosine transform (DCT), a method of realizing the Digital Image Watermark, is introduced. By setting up a DCT-module and an IDCT-module which are based on the 8-by-8 matrix and hanging on the FSL, we have made the structural design of FPGA hardware. To make good use of the hardware resource of FPGA, the pipelined structure is adopted to put data into DCT and IDCT operation, which optimizes the complex logic and improves the processing speed and coordinates the operations such as calculation and storage. The whole design is divided into several modules, and each is described in VHDL. This experiment demonstrates that the high-performance FPGA is suitable for the Digital Image Watermark.
