Terry Gilliams Film Brazil (1985) (◘ Abb. 1) spielt „somewhere in the 20th Century“, in einem von Technologie und Bürokratie beherrschten Land und verfolgt das Leben und die Träume des bescheidenen Regierungsangestellten Sam Lowry (Jonathan Pryce). Als kleines Rädchen einer staatlichen Maschinerie entflieht er dem seelenlosen Dasein in Tagträume, in denen er sich als geflügelter Held, als Retter einer wunderschönen Frau fantasiert.
