Neurowissenschaftliche Befunde bei Drogenkonsum

Zusammenfassung

Obwohl das mesolimbische dopaminerge System als die zentrale Suchtregion im Gehirn identifiziert wurde, zeigt sich die wissenschaftliche Befundlage zu den spezifischen neurobehavioralen Korrelaten des Drogenkonsums immer noch sehr lückenhaft. Die bisher vorliegenden Studienergebnisse geben daher nur orientierende Hinweise. Noch weitgehend unerforscht sind Aspekte der Hirnreifung und psychosozialen Entwicklung bei Langzeitkonsum unterschiedlicher Drogen, insbesondere was die Wechselwirkung zwischen genetischer Suszeptibilität und Konsumbeginn in vulnerablen Entwicklungsphasen betrifft. Bei Betrachtung der wissenschaftlichen Datenlage wird aber auch deutlich, wie schwierig Untersuchungen zu diesen Themenkomplexen sind, da eine Vielzahl von Faktoren Einfluss auf die Untersuchungsergebnisse nehmen kann.
