Abstract
This chapter describes the relationship between technical aspects of IT infrastructure reliability and continuity of business activities in a small business organization. The paper presents a simple mathematical method of describing the relationship between requirements of business activity and reliability of IT infrastructure. This article shows the evaluation of the importance of IT services for organizations using the mathematical method presented in the example. This method allows the detection of bottlenecks and evaluate the effects of failures in the organization. The author selected IT services for which reliability must be improved, on the basis of mathematical analysis. This chapter presents methods of improving reliability of web services and databases using the failover Cluster and database mirroring.
