Abstract
An emerging field in economics is that of behavioural finance. It is the result of the collection of many kinds of data coming from experimental, behavioural, cognitive economics and neuroeconomics. Financial behaviour is relatively almost easily studied in natural settings and artificial experiments. The results of these studies are allowing the control of hypotheses in cognitive economics and the generation of new insights in the economic behaviour. The following is a short outline of these contributions (the reference is to Hilton 2001; Attia and Hilton 2011; Viale 2011).
The present chapter is a revised version of Viale, R. (2008). Per un’economia ‘brainful’, Foreword to Camerer, C., La neuroeconomia, Il Sole 24 Ore, Milan, and Viale, R. (2011). Soros e l’Effetto Gregge. foreword to Attia, C., & Hilton, D.J. (2011). Decidere in Finanza. Milano: Il Sole 24 Ore.
