Abstract

Despite the variety of existing theoretical models for buyers’ coalition in the current e-commerce literature, no existing coalition scheme explicitly considers the application of ontology in coalition formation. This article presents a Buyer Coalition with Ontologies in e-Marketplaces (BCOM) scheme, which uses ontology for modeling buyer coalitions with RDF (Resource Description Framework) and RDF Schema, together with some sample coding and example ontology to demonstrate our implementation.
