Abstract

In the framework of quantum field theory, measured coupling constants (which characterize the different fundamental interactions) depend on the energy at which the experiments are carried out. Furthermore one has to distinguish between measured and fundamental coupling constants. These concepts coincide with energy-dependent measurements of the strong coupling constant.
