Abstract
This paper investigates the maturity of Egyptian local e-government websites. The paper develops a model that fits a developing country context and is based on Quirk’s Maturity Model and the Municipal e-Government Assessment Project (MeGAP) Model. The model is used to carry out a detailed content analysis of 22 governorates’ web sites in Egypt. The results show a significant variability in websites’ maturity in various spaces of the model. Information features have proved to be dominating, while features related to e-service and e-commerce are the least available on the local government websites.
