An Appraisal Method of the Interoperability of Architecture Based on DoDAF

Abstract

An important factor in the Joint Operation, interoperability is regarded as the key to win a battle. This study proposes a quantitative method to assess the system interoperability at architecture level based on DoDAF (Department of Defense Architecture Framework). The proposed method works by extracting the systems and their interoperability features from the DoDAF model and by referring to the appraisal method of system similarity. The NMD (National Missile Defense Systems) is taken as an example to illustrate the proposed appraisal method.
