Abstract

In the entire life cycle of the ETO product family, the designers would change the product family, the component family, the product, the component example to form the massive data of different versions. Therefore, the effective configuration management needs to be made in the entire life cycle of the ETO products to guarantee their uniqueness and traceability in the entire life cycle. This paper established the universal data model based the ETO product, and proposed the method of the configuration management by the configuration identification and control. The product’s configuration management is to take the database as the bottom layer support, to take the material bill as the organization core, to relate the final product’s engineering data with the documents, and to realize the organization, control, circulation and management of the product data. Therefore the establishment of the universal data model facing the ETO product configuration is very important.
