Zusammenfassung

Eine Adipositas besteht dann, wenn der Anteil der Körperfettmasse an der Gesamtkörpermasse eine definierte Grenze übersteigt, die mit einem erhöhten Gesundheitsrisiko verbunden ist. Die Begriffe Adipositas und Übergewicht werden im Kindes- und Jugendalter oftmals synonym verwendet, obwohl dies aus medizinischer Sicht nicht korrekt ist und eine saubere Trennung erfolgen sollte.
