Introduction
The idea of an Intelligent Open Learning System assumes development of distance learning systems in the direction of open, personalized systems based on knowledge management tools. The aim of such systems is to support education on the level of passing knowledge, through creating of a computer environment dedicated to a specific student. Knowledge management methods allow for creation of knowledge portions adjusted to the education goals and the basic knowledge of the student. Simultaneously the openness of the environment enables creation of collaboration networks between students sharing similar education goals. One of the examples of such a system is the Distance Learning Network (DLN) [39].
