Abstract

Use of internet has made the data transfer very easy but at the same time very risky also. The major concern of these days is the security of the data being transferred over the Internet. Steganography is a technique that proves to be very good to achieve this. Steganography can be defined as a technique of embedding data inside some other object by altering its properties. This paper includes discussion of a technique that has been designed to hide more number of bits per pixel. The technique maps the secret data to one of the channels of the cover object and use LSBs of other channels to mark the presence of data in that channel. The results show that the technique achieves high security and provides more data hiding capacity.
