Abstract

Fault tolerance is an important characteristic for autonomous robotic systems that operate and fulfill mission tasks in an autonomous way. Being fault-tolerant means the robot is:

  • more reliable in its operation;

  • can withstand some faulty situations that may occur during its mission;

  • can mitigate such failures without a human operator;

  • can continue implementing its mission assignments.
