Abstract

A novel diimine ligand 9-(N-butyl)-4,5-diazafluoren(BADF) and corresponding rhenium tricarbonyl complex Re[(BADF)(CO)3Cl] (BADF-Re) have been synthesized. Photophysical behaviors are investigated by UV-vis absorption and fluorescence spectrometry. It is found that the triplet metal-to-ligand charge-transfer dπ(Re)-π*(N-N) (3MLCT) emission of BADF-Re centered at around 563nm. Theoretical calculation revel that the energy gap between the HOMO and LUMO is 2.42 eV, wich is similar to that (2.43 eV) obtained from the optical absorption spectra.
