Abstract

In this paper, an iterative multiuser detection (IMUD) algorithm based on partial parallel soft interference cancellation (PPSIC) structure is proposed. In reference [8], Divsalar et al proposed a partial parallel interference cancellation multiuser detection algorithm, it was introduced a partial cancellation weight in each stage to alleviate the cost of improper interference estimations in parallel interference cancellation (PIC) structure. Based on this PPIC multiuser detection algorithm, we develop a soft input soft output (SISO) multiuser detection algorithm to fit the iterative multiuser detection process, and develop a new iterative structure of the multiuser detection algorithm in this paper. Due to that the veracity of the output bit information in fore-stage affects the correctness of detection in next stage in PPIC, we let the output bit information in each stage in PPIC process iteratively with the maximum a posteriori (MAP) channel decoder, so to improve the veracity of the output bit information in each stage in PPIC. The simulating results show that our proposed structure really does improve the performance of iterative multiuser detection based on PPIC. Also we can conclude that our iterative structure should be applied in other iterative multiuser detection algorithms based on PIC.
