Alle akuten Erkrankungen, alle Operationen und Interventionen sowie auch Verletzungen sind mit einer Erhöhung des Thromboserisikos verbunden. Eine Thrombose zu verhindern oder zumindest die Wahrscheinlichkeit ihres Eintritts zu mindern, ist Ziel der primären Thromboseprophylaxe.
