Abstract

DO178C introduces a supplement addressing Object Oriented Technology (OOT) for avionics software. Although OOT is more of a methodological issue than a language issue, and despite the wording that tries to be programming-language agnostic, it is clear that this supplement is the result from a strong push from the C++ and Java communities to make their languages more acceptable for critical systems.
