Abstract
Given the existing problems in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), the National Emergency Medical Center of joined Softel conceived the computerization of Intensive Care Units and in particular the development of an application that manages information received relating to the different patients admitted to the same, capable of satisfying quick and effective management information system specialists authorized in their daily work, besides providing an optimum solution to what the customer wants. For these purposes it was a team that captures the operational needs required by users, following the workflow of the Unified Process Development and using different design techniques and programming. The work consists of three chapters, the first deals with issues relating to UTI, a second chapter outlines the technologies used to develop the application and the third describes the proposed solution. Finally, we present the application obtained with features that bring great benefit to the client, Java and PostgresSQL generated in accordance with the policies of migration to free software in our country and the world.
