Abstract
Cardiodef ®2M is a biphasic defibrillator- monitor with facilities, to be used in emergency rooms, surgical rooms, external consulting, etc. However, their display hasn’t the proper size and resolution to represent in detail the elec-trocardiographic signal (EKG) acquired from patient. This limitation doesn’t allow their use in those places where you need to study in real time, accurately and distinct waves that make up each beat (QRS) of the patient’s heart. One of the new features of Cardiodef ® 2M, is the transmission through Bluetooth / USB interface, in real time, of the needed data for monitoring. This paper describes the characteristics of an application that allows a PC to receive the data sent by Cardiodef ®2M and display it on a PC’s monitor screen, so, this is used as an external display area of defibrillator’s signals and parameters. The application was developed in Delphi language for Windows 32. Its implementation is based a hierarchy of classes that can be reused in other system that need to acquire and display signals in real time. The application interface maintains the basic ergonomics features of Cardiodef ®2M and provides the user with a graphical representation of the ECG with higher quality than that shown on the defibrillator’s screen.
