Abstract

To include fatigue in DTI study of muscle in high level athletes we must know how quickly the parameters recover to rest state. We acquired DTI data at rest, and after a one-legged jump using the unused leg as reference, measuring ADC and FA on Soleus and Tibialis Anterior muscles in both legs simultaneously. ADC and FA values were affected by the exercise, but rapidly returned to rest values, suggesting the recovery process begins closely to the end of the exercise. Studies focused on DTI changes with exercise should start the acquisition right after effort tests, to produce correct data.
