Abstract

Pellets of poly(vinylidene flouride) PVDF in the mixed solvent of N, N- Dimethylformamide DMF was used to electrospun in order to obtain ultrafine fibers (mats) for biomedical versatile use as temperature sensor, smoke detector and Humidity detector. These membranes were characterized using lab-made setups to determine its range of work. As temperature sensor have a good performance in any human being (37°C), neonatal body (36.5 °C to 37.5 °C) and other applications up to 80 °C. As smoke detector and humidity the PVDF mat showed excellent result.
