Zusammenfassung

Seit Ende der 1960er-Jahre gilt der Ultraschall mit der nichtinvasiven Möglichkeit der Bildgebung als Meilenstein des Fortschritts in der Medizin und hat, ausgehend von der Bearbeitung geburtshilflicher Fragestellungen, mittlerweile in nahezu allen Fachdisziplinen eine Schlüsselstellung in der Diagnostik inne. In derselben Zeitspanne greift die kontinuierliche externe elektronische Herzfrequenzregistrierung in breitem klinischem Einsatz auf das in den vorherigen Kapiteln bereits dargestellte Continuous-Wave-Dopplerprinzip zurück.
